Vipin Kumar , He is an AAAS/ACM/IEEE/IAM Fellow, a professor at the University of Minnesota, and currently serves as the William Norris Endowed Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. In 1977, Vipin Kumar obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Ruhr Institute of Technology (formerly known as Ruhr University) in India. In 1979, he obtained a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from Philips International Research Institute in Eindhoven, Netherlands. He then went to the United States for further studies and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, Park in 1982. Vipin Kumar's research areas include data mining, high-performance computing, parallel computing, and machine learning. His research has been cited over 127000 times by Google Scholar and has made significant contributions to the development of the concept of equal efficiency measures for evaluating the scalability of parallel algorithms, efficient parallel algorithms and software for sparse matrix factorization, and graph partitioning.

One of Professor Kumar's most famous works is the development of efficient data mining algorithms that can handle large-scale datasets, which have been widely applied in fields such as scientific research, business analysis, and public health. The data mining tool developed by his team can extract valuable information from massive amounts of data, greatly improving the efficiency and quality of data analysis.

Professor Kumar has not only made significant achievements in the academic community, but also actively participated in interdisciplinary research. He collaborates with climate scientists to use data mining techniques to analyze climate change data, helping scientists better understand and predict climate patterns. His work provides important data support for addressing global climate change.

In addition, Professor Kumar is also committed to promoting artificial intelligence education. He has developed multiple online courses to help students and professionals worldwide master skills in data mining and machine learning. These courses not only improve the accessibility of education, but also cultivate a large number of artificial intelligence talents.

We award Professor Kumar the title of Corresponding member, which is a recognition of his personal achievements and a motivation for his future work. We look forward to him continuing to make more breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence, bringing more innovation and value to society.
