On February 6, 2025, the National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) officially announced the establishment of the Middle East Research Institute and appointed Dr. Gao Xin, a tenured full professor at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, as its dean. This move marks a new stage in NAAI's research and collaboration in the Middle East region.

Professor Xin Gao is a world-renowned scholar at the intersection of computer science and biology.
