In recognition of outstanding scholars who have made outstanding contributions in the field of artificial intelligence and related interdisciplinary fields worldwide, the National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) of the United States has officially announced the list of winners for the 2025 NAAI Academy Award after rigorous nomination, evaluation, and voting by the Academician Committee.
The NAAI Academy Award does not differentiate between specific categories and aims to comprehensively recognize the lifelong achievements and breakthrough contributions of the winners in the fundamental theories, interdisciplinary applications, and technological innovations of artificial intelligence.
List of winners of the NAAI Academy Award for the year 2025
1. Jack Dongarra
-Affiliated institutions: University of Tennessee, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
-Main contributions:
-The founder of high-performance computing and numerical algorithms, whose developed software libraries such as LINPACK and LAPACK have become the cornerstone of modern scientific computing.
-The establishment of TOP500 supercomputer performance evaluation standards has a profound impact on the development of large-scale parallel computing in artificial intelligence.
2. Arieh Warshel
-Institution: University of Southern California
-Main contributions:
-Pioneering multi-scale molecular simulation methods that combine quantum mechanics with classical mechanics, providing a theoretical framework for AI driven molecular dynamics simulations.
-Its research achievements have accelerated the application of artificial intelligence technology in biomedicine and material design.
3. Michael I. Jordan
-Institution: University of California, Berkeley
-Main contributions:
-A leading figure in machine learning theory research, who has made pioneering work in statistical learning, probability graph models, and distributed optimization algorithms.

4. Ruzena Bajcsy
