Appointment Notice
National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Shao Liyang, from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), as Executive Vice Dean of the NAAI Asia Research Institute, effective immediately.
About Professor Shao Liyang
Vice Dean, School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship; Professor and PhD Supervisor, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, SUSTech.
NAAI Corresponding Member; Senior Member of IEEE, OSA, SPIE, and other major international academic organizations.
Recognized expert in intelligent distributed fiber-optic sensing and integrated sensing networks; author of 183 SCI-indexed publications with over 7,800 citations.
Principal investigator for multiple national and provincial research projects; inventor on 20+ patents applied in offshore wind, transportation systems, oil & gas networks, and other fields.
Role & Responsibilities
As Executive Vice Dean, Prof. Shao will:
Support strategic planning and implementation for NAAI’s Asia Research Institute.
Lead academic programs, project collaborations, and international partnerships across Asia.
Represent NAAI at regional conferences, industry forums, and governmental engagements.
Foster interdisciplinary research and outreach among NAAI Members in the region.
Term of Appointment
This appointment takes effect immediately and will follow the term regulations defined by NAAI’s Executive Council.
