Partha Pratim Chakrabarti is a distinguished Indian computer scientist known for foundational contributions in artificial intelligence (AI), formal methods, algorithm design, VLSI and embedded systems, and reliable/fault-tolerant computing. He has been a faculty member at IIT Kharagpur since 1988 and has published over 250+ research papers in reputable international journals and conferences. 


He has served in major academic leadership roles, including Director of IIT Kharagpur (2013–2019).
