Dr. Liang Hu is a Full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, Tongji University. He received his first Ph.D. in Computer Application Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China in 2015, and his second Ph.D. in Analytics from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia in 2019. His research spans foundational AI technologies, AI for engineering and sciences, recommender systems, data science, multimodal large models, and interdisciplinary intelligent systems. His work has been successfully implemented across various industries including e-commerce, healthcare, finance, transportation, and manufacturing.
Professor Hu has authored over 100 high-quality publications, many of which represent pioneering contributions in their respective fields, and has received multiple best paper awards. He has served as conference chair for several international conferences, including the IEEE International Conference on Automation, Control and Electrical Engineering (ICAACE). Additionally, he holds editorial roles as board member and guest editor for prestigious journals such as IEEE Intelligent Systems, MDPI Mathematics, and JDSA. He has also led several national research projects with funding totaling millions of U.S. dollars.
Among his recognitions, Professor Hu has been awarded the Endeavour Research Fellowship by the Australian Government for outstanding international scholars, and has been selected for the Shanghai High-level Overseas Talent Program and the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) in China.
