My name is Kelvin Leong. I am a Full Professor at the University of Chester. I hold a BA (Hons) in Business Accounting, an MSc in E - Commerce, a PhD in Computer Science, and am a Chartered Accountant in the UK.
Research Achievements
· Through research in AI and data analytics, I've published widely across many fields. My work is featured in top - ranked journals. Currently, I focus on LLMs and responsible AI.
· My ResearchGate ranking is ahead of 91% - 93% of researchers in fields like Artificial Intelligence, Analysis, Computer and Society, and Education Technology. Two of my publications rank higher than 99% on ResearchGate.
Academic Career
· Started in 2007 as a Lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
· In 2013, joined Glyndwr University, Wales, UK. Promoted to Principal Lecturer and Professional Lead in Finance in 2016. Achievements there include being academic link for an international bilingual program, leading the launch of the UK's first FinTech undergraduate degree, and leading the Finance subject area to top rankings.
· In 2019, joined the University of Chester as a Professor of Financial Technology and Data Analytics.
Teaching
· As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I teach over 200 students annually across levels 4 - 8 in various cutting - edge disciplines. I develop and update course content. I've taught thousands of students from over 50 countries. I also supervise students at different levels.
Research Projects
· Served as Principal Investigator for a project funded by OpenAI, and as Co - Investigator on several other projects funded by sources like the University of Chester and the European Regional Development Fund.
Professional Activities
· Invited as guest expert reviewer for journals and a Topical Advisory Panel Member for Information (MDPI). Received the Emerald Publishing Outstanding Reviewer Award 2020. Served as a Technical Program Committee member, external examiner, and in various other roles in conferences and programs. Write a weekly column for Hong Kong Commercial Daily.
· I am also a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland.
