Sriraam Natarajan

Dr. Sriraam Natarajan is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas and also serves as the director of the school's Machine Learning Center. His research areas mainly include artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistical relationship learning, reinforcement learning, graph modeling, and their applications in the biomedical field. In 2025, Dr. Natarajan was selected as an AAAI Fellow for his outstanding contributions in statistical relationship artificial intelligence, healthcare adaptation, and to the AAAI community.


Before joining the University of Texas at Dallas, Dr. Natarajan taught at Oregon State University. He has received multiple honors such as the Young Researcher Award from the US Army Research Office, the Amazon Research Award, and the Intel Research Award. In addition, he is also Hessian Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Center in Hesse, Germany, and Outstanding Faculty Researcher at RBDSCAI at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras Campus.


Dr. Natarajan has also taken on multiple important roles in academia, including serving as Co Chair of the Program at the AAAI 2024 conference and Chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Social Track at the AAAI 2022 and 2023 conferences. He is also the associate editor of academic journals such as the Journal of Machine Learning (MLJ) and the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR).
