Dr. Mayank Vatsais a Professor of Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, India. Previously, he was a Professor at IIIT-Delhi. He received his Master's and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University.
He has been a member of the Indian Biometrics Standards Committee for e-governance applications. He also served on the UIDAI's Biometrics Standards Subcommittee, contributing to the development of standards for face, fingerprint, and iris recognition. In addition, he served as the Vice President (Publications) for the IEEE Biometrics Council, where he initiated the IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior and Identity Science. His introductory editorial for IEEE T-BIOM outlines the journal’s vision.
His current research interests include biometrics, image processing, machine learning, deep learning, image forensics, and information fusion.
