Dr. Liu holds an academic and research background spanning Stanford University, Peking University, and Harvard Medical School. He is a leading figure in the AI-driven sleep health and medical industry, and together with his Stanford mentor, Professor Jamie—Director of Center for Sleep and Circadian Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine—and the Stanford AI medical research team, he is recognized as one of the principal inventors of the AI mattress.

Dr. Liu’s research exemplifies the deep integration of artificial intelligence with sleep medicine, cardiovascular dynamics, microelectronics, and health-oriented smart devices. His contributions span multiple disciplines, generating tangible impact across healthcare, consumer electronics, and public health.

In his work on non-contact biosignal acquisition systems, Dr. Liu integrates advanced AI algorithms with microelectronic sensor networks to monitor physiological parameters such as heart rate, respiration, and sleep posture—key data points highly relevant to cardiology and neurology. These systems have already been deployed in hospitals, elder care facilities, and high-end hotels, supporting early detection of arrhythmias, sleep apnea, and fatigue syndromes.

At Harvard Medical School, Dr. Liu spearheaded research on cardiac dynamics modeling, applying artificial intelligence to better understand autonomic regulation during sleep. His algorithms provide new insights into circadian cardiovascular behavior, offering scientific support for both clinical care and AI-driven diagnostics.

His patented technologies have advanced the development of AI mattresses and AI-enabled cloud health platforms, which are now widely adopted by healthcare institutions and home health service providers. These innovations directly foster cross-disciplinary collaboration among clinicians, AI researchers, engineers, data scientists, and regulatory authorities.

In addition, Dr. Liu has contributed to the drafting of multiple national and industry standards, demonstrating his leadership in translating interdisciplinary expertise into policy and industrial specifications. His work has established a unified technical framework for AI integration in smart health products, setting a benchmark for future collaboration between medical research, consumer health, and national regulation.

Through these efforts, Dr. Liu has significantly advanced the practical convergence of AI technologies with human-centered healthcare, laying the foundation for next-generation intelligent health and medical systems.

Dr. Liu’s pioneering research has made substantial contributions to the fields of AI cardiology and AI-driven digital health management. As a recognized scholar in AI healthcare, he is also the co-founder of multiple AI technology companies in Silicon Valley.
